Something about being in nature, particularly close to vast bodies of water, is so humbling. Maybe because of how they buttress the reality of how small we are or maybe because they can be a very simple reminder that there is so much more to life. Beyond the water there are people with problems as big, and even bigger, than mine. Beneath it the fish go about their day to day, not knowing the extent of how much lives above the surface, just as we go about our lives often not knowing the magnitude of He who watches over us.
